The Sustainable Manufacturing and Environmental Pollution (SMEP) programme is a collaboration between UNCTAD and DFID which aims to reduce the environmental and social impacts of manufacturing in developing countries. The programme funds research activities and developing technical solutions that will help reduce the levels of pollution and environmental degradation generated by industrial/manufacturing processes in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) and South Asia (SA).

9th Joint Programming Initiative on Antimicrobial Resistance

DEADLINE: 15 FEB 2019

This call will fund joint transnational research projects addressing the development of diagnostic and surveillance tools, technologies and methods to detect antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Projects should address the diagnosis of AMR infections in clinical and veterinary settings, or the surveillance of AMR in humans, animals and the environment. The call promotes projects with impact in low and middle income countries (LMICs) in Asia and Africa.

Joint Awards for AMR in the Environment

DEADLINE: 13 DEC 2018

DHSC’s Global AMR Innovation Fund has allocated BBSRC, with NERC, up to £5 million of UK aid to deliver this call, while CONICET is committing up to ARS 2 million per year. On behalf of the UK partners, BBSRC will be managing the call process and issuing awards, but applications must be made to CONICET.
