The prizes for the gift giveaway:
Science and Innovation for Development is the go-to book on research for international development; demonstrating how science and technology can be harnessed to tackle today’s biggest challenges in poor countries, including climate change, HIV/AIDS and illiteracy.
It was written by two of the UK’s leading international development thinkers, Sir Gordon Conway, former Chief Scientific Adviser for DFID and current Director of Agriculture for Impact, and Professor Jeff Waage, Director of the London International Development Centre. The book steers clear from complex language or theories, instead delivering a series of fascinating case studies, all sending the same message – science matters and innovation improves lives.
The brand new UKCDS 2015 Calendar Report summarises some of the important and innovative collaborative projects that UKCDS member organisations and stakeholders have been supporting.
Stunning images accompany month-by-month summaries of joint initiatives in international development research, such as: safeguarding public health in humanitarian crises, combating livestock diseases in rural India and forging international science partnerships between the UK and countries around the world.
So now it’s down to you. Retweet the above tweet or send a new tweet and a free hard copy of the book and desktop calendar will be winging its way to you soon.
