Report & guidelines for NGO practitioners to think about the types of scientific information & expertise they may need, how to access & use them, & how to apply them in an ethical & accountable manner
A set of Guidelines on ‘Integrating science into humanitarian and development planning and practice to enhance community resilience’ has been developed by Melanie Duncan at University College London in collaboration with a number of contributors.
The guidelines are designed to encourage humanitarian and development non-governmental organisation (NGO) practitioners to think about the types of scientific information and expertise they may need, how to access and use them, and how to ensure that they are applied in an ethical and accountable manner.
A report from the associated workshop is also available here.
A blog about the guidelines, written by Dr Kate Crowley of CAFOD, can be found here
