Elrha’s Research for Health in Humanitarian Crises (R2HC) programme opened its annual Call for Proposals on 5 June 2018. The deadline for applications is 17 July 2018.
R2HC is a public health research fund aiming to improve health outcomes by strengthening the evidence base for public health interventions in humanitarian crises. This programme is the product of a strategic partnership between the UK Government (DFID), the Wellcome Trust, and the UK National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).
With topics ranging from mental health to non-communicable diseases, R2HC have funded over 40 grants and awarded almost £14 million to organisations working in humanitarian health since 2014.
For this year’s call, £3.5 million is available for collaborative research aiming to improve public health outcomes in humanitarian crises. Shortlisted applicants are also eligible for £10k seed funding to support proposal development and strengthen research partnerships.
This is an ‘Open Call’, with proposals invited to address specific or multiple public health issues, gathering data or evidence with the potential to contribute to improved public health outcomes in humanitarian contexts. Under this Call, proposals on the following theme will be particularly welcomed:
- Evaluation of interventions focused on health system strengthening in fragile states and protracted crises.
