Moments from UKCDR’s Annual Stakeholder Event
Recap of UKCDR's event on global equitable research partnerships on 10 March 2022
We are pleased to announce this upcoming virtual event hosted by the UK Collaborative on Development Research (UKCDR) and ESSENCE on Health, ‘The role of funders in enabling equitable research partnerships for development’. This event will take place at the Science Summit at United Nations General Assembly 77 (UNGA77) on the 26th September.
Bringing together a dynamic group of panelists from funder organisations around the world, the session aims to identify and discuss practical ways in which research funders and institutions across the world can embed equity in international scientific collaboration to advance the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
We are excited to share that, during the event, we will also launch our upcoming Good Practice Document: Four Approaches to Supporting Equitable Research Partnerships (2022), developed by a global taskforce of research funders and experts. The session will raise awareness of this resource among the science for development community, promoting prioritisation of equitable research partnerships as a means of supporting an enabling environment for research uptake and impact towards the SDGs.
